What does an age calculator do?
An age calculator works out the calendar age between a date of birth and a reference date. Instead of estimating by dividing total days by 365, it accounts for the varying lengths of months and leap years to show completed years, months and days.

Why do months and days matter?
Two people born in the same year may have different ages in completed months and days. Calendar-based age depends on the exact day and month, not just the difference between birth years. February is shorter than other months, and leap years add 29 February to the calendar.
